I don't know if this is a problem with Parallels or something that i am doing wrong. I am trying to test out rebuilding an active directory restore using an authoritative restore but when i boot into restore mode and then restore the system state only to find that when rebooting it fails to boot. when it suppose to get to the server 2003 loading screen (with the bar underneath) it just restarts the VM, not parallels or the laptop. It's running on a MBP with 2GB RAM and 2GHz core duo.
i backed up a server system state using the ntbackup tool then re-installed the server OS. I did not join it to the domain as i read on technet that you can restore a stand alone server, which is what i was testing. i then restored the system state and ran into the problem. Can anyone shed any light onto this?
PS i haven't done this sort of thing before so it could be something i have done wrong. Another reason as to why i am testing...
