Adding a printer

I'm installing a Photosmart printer in Windows--everything seems okay--says Printer is Ready and has two documents ready to go--just doesn't print. What am I missing? Thought I went through the steps in the User Manual pretty carefully!!
 
Sorry about the double posting--when I checked to make sure my message went through okay I couldn't find it and thought I missed a step so that it wasn't posted, so I tried again.
