Adobe Reader XI performance issues

Anybody else having issues viewing PDF files in Adobe Ready XI (Windows Version)? I am able to view PDF files, but as i do,all other programs freeze (Outlook 2010, IE, windows explorer) and am unable to do anything but view the PDF until i close Adobe Reader.
I am running Parallels 8 in Coherence mode on a macbook pro

Any solutions?
