I suppose you have found out by yourself since your initial post, anyway here is the answer: there is NO such thing anymore as Aero in Windows 8. Microsoft retired that from the user interface in Windows 8. The only thing "aero-like" you will see is some transparency of the task bar which shows the desktop background through. But transparencies in the windows borders or inside windows which were built to use them in Windows Vista or Windows 7, are OFF with Windows 8.
