I use XP in Parallels 4.0 in OSX Tiger.

Lately whenever I start XP I get a dialog box entitled "AFP Connection Status" and within that box it says "Looking up 'Old Mac'", where "Old Mac" is my old Mac.

Everything essentially freezes while this dialog box is open, and when the spinning beach ball stops long enough for me to hit "cancel", it still takes a while for the beach ball to stop spinning again. I'm then good for a only few seconds of work until the dialog box pops-up again.

Has anyone encountered this problem or have any idea how to fix it? Even when my old Mac, which is still on my network, is on, the problem is the same. The problem is so bad it has essentially rendered Parallels useless.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Probably the MAC address of the VM is the same as for Mac?
Configure - Networ Adapter 1-(meanwhile check Show Advanced settings) - and check is it the same as on your Mac?
    on Mac
    ifconfig -a
    and you can compare

Thanks - no match. Fortunately it seems to have stopped for now.
