After Failed Suspend, Unable to Connect to Hard Disk 1

    I don't usually "Suspend", I usually shut down.

    But this time I tried it.

    After five minutes of spinning status, I decided to cancel the suspend, which I couldn't do. So I quit the Parallels application.

    Upon relaunch, I get the classic "Unable to Connect to Hard Disk 1" error.

    Everything has been fine up to now, running Parallels 9.0.23350,
    with OSX 10.9 (latest), on a 2.2Ghz Intel Core i7 Macbook Pro. I use a Bootcamp partition.

    Hi beagley,

    Try creating a new Bootcamp based Virtual Machine by following the steps outlined below:

    1. Update Parallels Desktop for Mac to the latest build by following: http://kb.parallels.com/111603
    * Download and install updates if found.

    2. Remove the existing Virtual Machine by following: http://kb.parallels.com/5029
    3. Create a new Virtual Machine by following: http://kb.parallels.com/112941

    Note: BootCamp based virtual machines cannot be suspended.
