After upgrading to 17.1 and updating the Tools on my Debian 11.1 VM, running the Linux 5.10.0-9-amd64 kernel, I am no longer able to boot into the GUI. Just at the point that the desktop should be loading, it fails and ends up just flickering the default desktop background image a few times then the screen is blank. If I disable 3d acceleration then I get the desktop but at 1024x768 resolution. Anybody have an idea as to what I can try here? I am able to ALT-F1 to a login prompt, so I can make changes to the OS if required.
