I completely agree with the need of a way to bypass the USB control of OS X. I use several USB devices that are not supported by OS X and under Virtual PC is those devices are seen directely by the windows drivers. I think that this is really important for those of us that use Mac in place of a PC to program microcontroller , altera devices , JTAG microprocessor.
