ALT Key Question

Can someone please tell me how to use my iMac keyboard, in Parallels 8, to select multiple items. On the iMac, of course, I hold down the Command key and can select random lines on a spread sheet (for example). Pressing the Command key OR the Option/Alt key while in Parallels 8 does nothing????

It seems that several modifier keys are not passed through properly by Parallels Desktop for Mac.

This was the workaround for me:
use the right option key while selecting multiple items, behavior is exactly the same as the left control key in windows 10.
