I don't use my Windows VM every day, but use Ubuntu a lot. Parallels Desktop seems to nearly always wait for the machine to be powered on before taking a smartguard snapshot - thereby using more space and potentially being in the middle of processing. Can we have please have an option to wait until the machine is shut before snapshotting?

A useful enhancement to this feature would be to optionally enable shutdown of the VM to facilitate a complete, consistent and safe backup with an option to restart VM afterwards. Snapshots taken while the VM is running or in the pause state are not necessarily bootable.

Better would be 'hooks' that can work with smart-guard to facilitate the effective backup of safe rebootable VM states on NAS (or other) backup destinations. (I understand that VMWare works Synology NAS software to ensure that a safe backup is captured).
