Recently, I M doing some research on openwrt and routers. I tried to run OpenWrt on my Mac M1 all possible ways, still failed, source compiling and dd image to the virtual disk. Did someone try this kind of thing ever before or facing the same puzzle as me?

I did some reading, Parallels emulate the hardware of M1 as aarch64 and provide its bootloader (as BIOS on x86), however the OpenWrt DOES NOT support Apple M1 or generic ARM 64, so no binary package suitable or proper source code.

    Can anyone give me suggestions?

Did you ever figure this out? I'm doing the same research and having the same issue. Also, curious if you're still working on a router project?

Hello, one solution that I come up with is that install qemu and utm with brew and then emulate the x64 format of OpenWrt in m chipsets
