I do QA testing of web sites, and currently QA all sites in 7 scenarios: two Mac browsers and five PC browsers. The 5 PC browsers each run in their own dedicated VM in Parallels (for various technical reasons).
I want to be able to easily/rapidly switch amongst the 7 scenarios with a dedicated key for each, in this case using an Xkeys pad. I'm using ControllerMate to program the keypad, similar to using iKeys or QuicKeys. The two Mac browsers were easy, and switching to Parallels itself is easy.
But opening a specific VM has proven difficult. No apparent keyboard shortcuts to work with, no AppleScript library, and Parallels seems to not "play nice" with System Events so I can access the windows via UI scripting. What I want to be able to do:
--Open a specific VM on command (generally all 5 VMs are open, I just want to bring a specific one to the front)
--If possible, "hide" or minimize all other open VMs except the frontmost one
Or if all else fails...a feature request for some basic AppleScript and System Events compatability.
