Hi, I'm running ArcMap 9.2 on my macpro (XP sp2, parallels 3 build 5160). I've got a piece of software that generates shapefiles. ArcMap can't load the shapefile if it's been written to a shared folder; however, if I copy the files to my XP deskstop ArcMap loads the shapefile fine. If you look at the properties of the shared folder, it says "PrlSF" while my desktop is NTFS. What is "PrlSF" and could this be causing my ArcMap problems?
Hi, PrlSF is a redirected file system what allows to read/write files to/from Mac. It is used for Shared Folders access. There are some limitations (probably bugs) in the Shared Folders functionality what we will fix in the next version of Parallels Desktop. Alexander
