Hi, I was wondering how to use the backup server functionality or specifically if it's meant to be implemented the way i want it to be I have a client that accesses their apps from outside the network (terminal server on public ip), but occasionally they access the terminal server from within the lan itself (private ip). So i thought i'd setup the public FQDN as the primary server and the internal DNS hostname (ts.network.local) as the backup server. This however does not work. How can i get this to work (if possible)?, so the users don't have to change any settings, but can just connect to the server whether inside or outside of the lan? Thanks, Dennes
I would setup both FQDN to be the same like ts.mycompany.com but when resolved externally it would point to the external IP; if being resolved internally, point to the internal IP. That would work the way you want. No matter where they are they will always be able to connect.
