quit using Windows? Do I have to Shut Down Windows every time that I stop using it? Or, is there some other method that is better? I ask because sometimes I use Parallels (Windows) several times a day and it can be a pain to have to wait for it to load every time. Thanks in advance.

The issue you are facing could be resolved by setting the computer to go on stand-by. To do so, you may follow the steps below:

1. Open Power Options by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Maintenance, and then clicking Power Options.

2.On the Select a power plan page, click Change plan settings under the selected plan.

3.On the Change settings for the plan page, click Change advanced power settings.

4.On the Advanced settings tab, expand Sleep, expand Sleep after then specify the you usually take to use the computer again.

5. Click "Ok".

You can suspend the virtual machine with the Suspend button on the toolbar, or clicking Virtual Machine -> Suspend.
 
How often should I shut down Windows and Parallels? To be honest with you, I might reboot (restart) my Mac maybe 2 or 3 times a month at most. Most of the time I just close my lid when I am not using it...then open it up to use it again.
