Beta2: Seems slower

i run it on my core2duo macbook pro (2gb ram) and while beta1 was really reliable and fast boots and so on, this beta2 seems to have much slower booting. and also the drive is grinding extremely, as if there wasn't enough ram. but i set it to 1100 like previously on beta1.

any ideas about it and if there is any solution to speed things up?
 
no, unfortunately it doesn't change anything. it takes 20min to get into win and gives me spinning-ball and shit. it's really annoying when i experienced the previous beta, which was so much faster loading up.

i don't know what to do and i'd really not like to re-install the older beta.

any further tips?

20 minutes?
Beta 2 seems to actually be faster.
try running IDisk Uitility and verify your HD?
If there are problems reboot system using your Apple CD and fix.

Are you running from a Boot Camp Windows installation? If so, I had a similar problem - I'm finding that the Apple keyboard drivers tend to take up all the CPU when running in Parallels. If I kill KdbMgr.exe in the Windows task manager, it gets back to normal speed until the next (windows) reboot.

In Windows, run msconfig.
Customize windows so it does not load KDBMGR.EXE
Make a shortcut of this file and place it in the startup folder.

Now when you run Parallels it will not load and the speed and the operation will be much smoother.

When running Boot Camp direct, after XP is running, goto the Startup menu and click the KDBMGR file to regain Apple Keyboard manager.

It really makes a difference. Especially when installing Paralell Drives! It seems to be a prime culprit for many ills.

BTW: I wrote about this extensively when the 1st Beta 2 was released. Guess alot of people missed it :)
