Black screen with unresponsive tool bar

Launching Parallels after suspending VM and quitting application, the VM list shows a sort of continuously rotating startup icon at the left of the VM entry. Clicking on the VM entry opens a totally black screen with the Suspend item in the toolbar selected. The VM menu shows Suspend checked and all other menu items disabled. I seem to be stuck. Help?
 
Thanks! Found the same advice on a similar thread shortly after my original post. Worked fine. Looking forward to a fix to the defect in a future release.
