Bridged Ethernet Mode does not work!

With PD3.x I used bridged ethernet mode without problem to begin with, but after a while, I don’t know if I upgraded OSX or PD, the VM would not get any IP-address, still bridged Ethernet mode would work with a manually configured IP-address. I was hoping that this problem would resolve with the upgrade to PD4, but now bridged Ethernet mode won’t work at all. I cannot get any IP-address, and it seems that there is no data coming from the network. Shared networking works for internet access but I can not reach other computers at my local network. Firewalls are turned off in both Windows and Kaspersky.
Any ideas?
Computer: MacBook, OS X 10.5.5 PD 4.0 Build 4.0.3522 Guest OS : win XP SP3
 
It's strange that you cann't access other network computers in Shared Networking. Could you try to access some computer by IP-address please in Shared Networking? Are you able to ping them
1) by name
2) by IP-address
3) by full-name. For example, my machine is called sd-foxc and my domain is parallels.com. So, I do ping sd.parallels.com

While you are in Bridged mode
1) Are you able to ping the host from VM? And back direction?
2) Are you using Cable-connection or Airport connection?

I can ping all computers both ways in both bridged mode and shared networking, with a manually configured IP in bridged mode, but I can still not get any IP-address from the DNS server in bridged mode. I have tried both airport and cable connection both as the default adapter or the chosen adapter.

It's a progress: at least PD40 works in bridged mode the same way as it does in PD30.

What about the IP-address issue: most likely it is some administration issue in your local network. May be administrators have disabled the issuing more then one IP address for one Switch-port.

If you are using the Airport, you can try to go to the VM Configuration->Hardware->Network Adapter, enable the "Show Advanced Settings" and try to set the "Send Host MAC address in the DHCP request" option. But note: if DHCP-server is not compliant with DHCP RFC, it can assign to the VM the same IP address as for the host. In this case please disable this option back.

That did the trick!
After doing that and then going back to Default Adapter, I'll get IP-address from the DNS server, and reach all the computers in the network both via Airport and cable.
