Build 1884 Breaks en2 Port on Intel iMac

I have repeated this three times on Intel iMac and got the same result each time.

1. Uninstall Parallels.
2. Reboot.
3. Install Build 1848. Check Internet Sharing in System Prefs and en2 shows up in Internet Sharing as a port to share TO.
4. Install Build 1884 RC Upgrade. Check Internet Sharing in System Prefs and en2 has disappeared from Internet Sharing as a port to share TO.

What gives? (Note: purchased Parallels for Mac after trying Build 1862 in which Internet Sharing worked fine. Unfortunately, did not keep the 1862 dmg but sharing also works fine in 1848.)

Can you please answer these for me:
1. Have you tried rebooting after upgrading to 1884? Does it help?
2. Is "Parallels Host-Guest Adapter" listed on System Preferences / Network / Network Status page?
3. If you type "ifconfig en2" in OSX Terminal what information is displayed?
 
I strongly believe that the installer should be modified to force a reboot after install. That would solve a lot of problems.
 
The reason behind this was that a lot of users scared by software which need Mac OS X to be rebooted after installation. At the same time number of users who needs host-only networking immedeatly after installation is relatively small...

Maybe the solution is to post a dialog at the end of the install saying that some features may not be available until OSX is rebooted.

Note that Apple's software upgrade marks upgrades that will require a reboot, and people don't seem to be complaining when the reboot is required. In the case of Parallels, it would be optional, but IMNSHO silly not to. Install system software without rebooting? How silly. If it works after install without reboot, how do I know what it will do after a reboot?

Oh well, other things are probably more important.
