Build 1884 - Can't Install Parallels Tools

I installed build 1884. I accessed Parallels Shared Folders and get I/O errors from programs trying to read/write the shared files. Since I hadn't installed the tools after the build 1884 install (it was there from the previous version), then I tried to Install Parallels Tools, and get the error message:
Unable to open device/file /Library/Parallels/Tools/vmtools.iso. Of course, the vmtools.iso file is in the folder.

What am I doing wrong?

I restarted windows and was then able to install the tools. I'm still getting an i/o error problem, but it seems unrelated to the shared folders, I get the same error from a local folder.
