Build 1940 with Core 2 Duo

Hello!

I can't install Windows XP with Parallels desktop. It seems that it is an memory issue. I removed one GB from my iMac 24" Core 2 Duo. During install I get messages, that some files are demaged or missing. I also went back to Internal Build 1918, which should fix the problem relating to Core 2 Duo.

What can I do?

When will there be a fix?

Can I return the software and get my money back?

It could be:

1) A bad Windows install disc (There are many bad ones from MS, hologram and everything)
2) Bad RAM. Did removing the RAM fix the problem? Parallels will drive RAM harder then most programs, so the badness becomes more aparrent. Don't try to run Parallels with less then 1gb of RAM in your Mac though, that causes problems also.
3) A hidden Core2 Bug.
4) Something completely not related to your processor. Parallels does not like .hdd files on network shares or FAT32 formatted drives.

"When will there be a fix?"
They can only fix it once a problem has been identified. Others have no problems installing XP on core2 duo machines. This does not mean there is no bug, it only means that the bug is harder to find. (and they don't know about it)

"Can I return the software and get my money back?"
Others have been able to e-mail Parallels and get a refund.
