Installing the video drivers went smoothly. But then, when trying to install the sound drivers, I get an error message, something to the effect of "your sound hardware isn't functioning properly". When I switched the video driver back to VGA, the sound driver installed properly. But after that, every subsequent attempt to install the video drivers again results in the system defaulting to the VGA driver after a reboot. Meanwhile, the sound works fine.
Is this a bug in build 3150? Anyone else seen this behavior?
I haven't seen this but, then again, I've been using XP. Perhaps you could give more details, like which Mac, RAM...

I am very interested in getting NT4 working with parallels desktop as well. Has anyone done this with success? Also, any chance parallels transporter is NT4 compatible? I would like to migrate several legacy systems over.
Build 3188 NT woes
I have been trying to get NT working on 3188 as well as it worked on 1970. So far no luck, even with multiple rounds of install tools/uninstall tools/reboot. Parallels tools installs, but the video driver never loads. So, you're stuck with the default 640x480 VGA res. I created a fresh VM with a fresh install of NT and everything works ok, including the video. If I flash back to 1970, the video works fine, even with the wrong version (3188 build) of Parallels Tools installed! So for now, my experience leads me to believe the only way to get NT to work with this build is to create a new VM and NT install from scratch, or go back to 1970. BTW, Build 1970 is still available here (for now):

Also can't get sound under NT with latest build
Same here - bought a Parallels boxed set (version 1970) today at MicroCenter, loaded it on the Mac mini I got for my birthday yesterday, then loaded NT 4, installed the tools, then did the online upgrade of Parallels. When I next started the VM it told me to reinstall the Parallels tools, at which point the sound driver failed to install as described above.
I uninstalled Parallels and then reinstalled from the boxed set, and the sound drivers installed successfully. However, this older version of Parallels crashed once as I attempted to reboot the VM.

Possible solution for existing Windows NT 4 VM video failure...
If your Windows NT 4 video does not load and reverts back to the standard VGA driver, then it is most likely a device conflict in Windows NT 4 (remember Windows NT 4 is not the most plug and play OS on this planet). Check the Event Log to see if any video failures occurred for the PrlVideo device. For instance I got the following Event Log error because of a conflict with an existing device:
A conflict has been detected between two drivers which claimed two overlapping Io port regions. Driver alcxnt, with device <\Device\ALCWaveOut0.Translated>, claimed an IO port range with starting address in data address 0x28 and 0x2c, and length in data address 0x30.
I disabled that device under the "Devices" applet under the Control Panel, rebooted and that solved the problem of the video not loading. The mouse still gets trapped by the guest OS, but the resolution works properly.
