Can connect to Internet via Windows but all programs are offline

I'm on a iMac running Windows 7.1 via Parallels. I can open a browser in Windows and pages connect just fine. However, all my programs that require updates say that they are offline. For example, I just tried to update the Anti-Virus Avira and am told that it can't connect to the internet because it is offline. I also find that there are times when I can't install software for the same issue. Please help.

Hello Ross4, please switch network Shared<-> Bridged-<Default adapter and if the issue persists, please reset IE browser settings and let us know how it works.
