    Hello everyone,

I just got my MacBook Pro (18GB, 1TB, M3 Pro, 16") today and I just installed Parallels in order to be able to play some games in the evening. However, I want to install some big games like GTA V, RDR2 and more so I'm wondering: Is it possible to use an external SSD with, say, 4TB to install the games there? I really don't want to waste all the storage on a new MacBook.

And how good would the performance be if I use external SSDs?

    Thanks!

    Hello Luca,

Yes you may, however, the performance would mostly depend on the Read/Write throughput of the external drive you plan to use.

You should use a thunderbolt drive.

    Hello,
Congratulations on your new MacBook Pro! Using an external SSD to install big games like GTA V and RDR2 is possible and can be a great solution to save storage space.
