Cannot get Coherence or Mouse Capture to work

Mouse Capture used to work just fine on my XP. It hasn't for more than a year. Mostly I just put up with it. Then I wanted to try Coherence. It also doesn't work. I had been running the FlyAKite Tiger skin -- and that used to work with the mouse capture. I tried uninstalling it and installing BricoPack's LeopardXP skin. Still no mouse capture and Coherence. I tried uninstalling that, and uninstalling Parallels Tools, and re-installing. No mouse capture or Coherence. The Start bar is still at the top of the screen.

I'd really like mouse capture to work. Coherence would be nice. Does anyone have any experience here?
 
Hey! I found in Configuration > Services that if I turned SmartMouse from Auto to On I get the capturing to work. Well thank goodness for that!

Still unable to switch to Coherence.
