Cannot split HDD image (error message)

Hi,

when I try to split an HDD image, I'll get the following error message:

Image Tool is unable to process the file. The format of
the hard disk image file you selected is not supported in
the current version. Please open the virtual machine
that is using this virtual hard disk in Parallels Desktop
to change the format.

It's extremely annoying that this message shows up just before the splitting is finished. I use Parallels Desktop 3.0, Build 5600. The Image Tool build is 5600 too. Guest OS is Windows XP Pro SP3, Partition format is NTFS. This VM has no snapshots. The disk is a "normal" disk (no undo disk). The VM was shut down (not suspended/paused, etc...).

Any idea what I can do to get a splitted HDD image?

Anybody out there from Parallels that can give me some information about this issue?

 

Nobody has a clue? Not even Parallels? Or is a broken software simply uninteresting?
