    Hi everyone,

I have just installed a trial version of parallels 3.0 desktop. After it took me almost entire afternoon to migrate my existing XP home to my MacBook, I got the blue screen of death upon starting XP under parallels, and now I have to start in safe mode every time. Was it something wrong I did during the installation?

    This is what I did:

1.Install parallels transporter and agent on my XP; created .pvs and .hdd file on my XP machine (not sure if this step is necessary though)
    2. Install parallels desktop 3.0 and transporter on my MacBook
    3. Connect two machines with firewire cable
    4. launched parallels transporter on my MacBook and it started to created .pvs and .hdd (this is why I suspected that I didn't need to create the same two files on my XP machine... but I could be wrong, obviously)
    5. After all is done, started parallels desktop
    6. PnP manager started to run (I accidentally tried to installed a driver under XP when got prompted -- it was before PnP manager, tough)
    7. Now when I launch XP, blue screen of death shows up and I had to restart in safe mode, so I wasn't even given a chance to enter activation code for XP....

Sorry for the long post... and I really wanted to LOVE parallels if I can get it to work under normal mode...trust me!

THANK YOU all in advance for your help!

A hopeful newbie to Mac. :)

When you have started windows in safe mode, unistall parallels tools in remove/add and then install it again. They in the parallels menu above under actions.

You can also try first just installing parallels tools, before you uninstall them.
