Canon DR-2050C connection to XP

Someone tell how to connect this scanner to XP on a mac please - Everytime I capture the port and start the program everything crashes and restarts. I know windows is rubbish compared with a Mac but I need to use this scanner for the job I do

Hi - Did you find a fix for this ?? I have just aquired a brand new DR-2050C scanner and can not get it to work on my Mac ( I knew this when purchasing - got it cheap ! ) and do not want to succumb to installing Windows on a dirty old Dell box just to do my scanning !
