Can't activate Parallels with paid license key

When attempting to activate Parallels Desktop using a purchased referenced key, I receive the message:

"The activation key cannot be used with the current version of the Parallels Desktop!"

I had typed in the code, then cut and pasted the code from the e-mail, both with the same result.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Get a beta key

Yes, apply for a beta key. The key you receive in email won't work until the production release.
