Can't change virtual hhd size - need help

I have set my virtual disk to run windows to 20G but while in windows i get an error saying that the disk has little space remaining. When i look at the property for C drive in Windows is shows only a capacity of 8G and 7.8 of that used. I guess that i don't understand the relationship between the virtual disk and c drive.

Please go to Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Computer Management->Disk Management and make a screen shot.
