can't configure VMs

My guest OSs start automatically when I launch Parallels from their aliases. When I stop them (red button) they close and Parallels exits. The FAQ says to hit Command before the guest OS starts loading to get at the configuration screen, but no matter how fast/often I do, I cannot catch it in time. How am I supposed to change the settings of the VM if I can't get to a guest-nonrunning state?

Press and hold the command button before, during, and after Parallels has started. Don't release it until you have Parallels running - Parallels should start up and run until the console shows up but will not auto start Windows.

Does this apply for other guest OSs as well?

Sorry to reply to myself, but it was faster to just give it a shot. It (holding Command) worked fine with my NetBSD VM. Thanks!

It is a Mac intrinsic so I expected it would but nothing's better than trying it :)
