cant install linux client

I am running the latest Ubuntu 10.04. If I boot off the live cd version I am able to install the .deb client package but if it is installed on the local hard drive I get this error

any suggestions??

I have tried all 3 versions. the .rpm versioin just displays empty folder after extraction and the tar.bz2 file has files populated in the folders after unpacking them and clicking on the install script allows me to run it but it does nothing

Currently (till version 8.1.870) the only supported versions of Ubuntu are the following:
Ubuntu 8.04, Ubuntu 8.10, Ubuntu 9.04, Ubuntu 9.10

I am referring to the manual Version 8.1 – Last updated May 26, 2010
