Hello, I have a problem with Visual Studio 2012 on Windows 8.1. When I'm trying to install VS, I'm getting this error message: "Installation is blocked. Compatibility mode of the Windows programs is on. Turn it off and try again". Where can I turn the "Compatibility mode" off? When I go to the "Properties" (of the installer) > "Compatibility", "Compatibility mode" is already unchecked.
Google finds this (among other pages): http://connect.microsoft.com/Visual...io-2012-pro-wont-install-on-fresh-windows-8-1 This is a known issue with Windows 8.1 RTM and it will be addressed in a future update of Windows 8.1. In the meantime, you can typically rename the EXE to get it to work correctly. Examples: Visual Studio Professional 2012 installer should be renamed to vs_professional.exe Premium -> vs_premium.exe Ultimate -> vs_ultimate.exe
