I'm running Sierra OS on a mid 2012 MacBook Pro. I am using the most recent update of Parallels 10. I downloaded an ISO image of Windows 10 from a Microsoft website. When I try to do an install of the VM using a disk image, I get an error message from Parallels saying "Unable to detect operating system". If I hit the "Continue" button it seems like Parallels is attempting to create a VM but then the Windows OS window displays "stopping" and the installation fails. I also tried burning a DVD from the ISO image, but I got the same errors messages. Does anyone have any ideas what may be going wrong? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Parallels Desktop 10 is a end of life product and it is no longer supported. It is not compatible with the latest Windows 10 build. You can try installing Parallels Desktop 13 trial and create a virtual machine.
Same here. You won't be able to update an existing image with the lastest Windows build within Parallels 10, it will crash. Let's hope Linux still works..
