Can't Open Parallels anymore

I bought Parallels six months ago. Installed Parallels, XP, and Office. Everything worked generally fine. Over time Parallels started not working all the time....I would launch it and it would fail to open. Then I would relaunch it and it would fail to open. Then sometimes I could "Reset and Relaunch" and it would finally open. This was not ideal but I got used to it.

Then a few weeks ago it just stopped working all together. The "Reset and Relaunch" option no longer works. I try to open Parallels and it bounces around in the dock for a few seconds and then just quits and tells me that "The application Parallels Desktop quit unexpectedly". And I can't get any farther than that. It just won't open. I can't even get into Parallels options to see if there are some configuration options.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but that didn't help.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Parallels Desktop for Mac 3.0
Build 5608
Mac OS X 10.5.x Leopard, all patches applied
Guest OS: Windows XP Professional SP3
Guest OS amount of memory: 800MB
Type of computer: MacBook Pro
Computer RAM: 2GB

I usually leave my Win XP SP3 VM running overnight, but no applications, just AVG Free and ZoneAlarm running. Occasionally, when I check in the morning, there is an error message saying that "The VM has unexpectedly quit" and there is an option, if I want to send a report to Apple and relaunch. I have no idea why this is happening. I have tried more VM memory (800MB), larger virtual disk, etc. It seems to happen more when in Coherence mode than Single Window mode. I have no idea why this is happening.

Any help would be appreciated.

I never have any trouble restarting the Win XP VM.

One thing I see in that support post is that may be my problem is that I don't shut down the VM or Mac OS X that often.

Usually, only when there are Mac OS X patches requiring a reboot.

I don't know what any of this means, but hopefully you will! I cut off about half of the stuff at the bottom because the message was too long to submit. I hope that isn't the half that you need.

As I said I am no longer able to launch Parallels...it just gives me the message that the "Application Quit Unexpectedly".
