Can't Perform Windows Update

I need help. I'm running Parallels 3.0 (latest build) on a MacPro with Windows XP as the guest operating system. I have gone onto the Microsoft Update webpage to get updates and when I shutdown to install updates, it says its installing 1 - 21, but then the computer shuts down without actually installing the updates.

I've googled various sources including this website and have tried numerous things, but nothing works. It started a few days ago, with updates 1 - 18, and now we're up to 1 - 21.

Does anyone have a solution as to how to get Windows to install these updates?

I was able to find some things last night, specifically microsoft kb 943144 which did the trick and was able to get my updates installed (all 26 of them)!

I also had the screen flickering going on that so many others reported recently and which you had a hand in solving. I've had good results this morning installing build 5608.
