Hi, With Parallels 17.1.2 and macOS Monterey, I can no longer run Windows from external hard drive. I get message that "Operating system not found". With Windows PC, booting from the same hard drives works perfect. Full Access is enabled for Parallels. How to troubleshoot the issue?
I can boot from external drive using nested virtualization, running Hyper-V virtual machine inside Parallels. It's strange that I can't boot from Parallels directly
Hello PavelF, Please refer to the knowledge base article to run windows from an external hard disk. Thanks.
@GampaA@Parallels the article is about running VM from .pvm file from external hard drive. I have a different case with external hard drive with installed Windows. I can boot from this drive using Windows PC so there're no issues with drive or Windows. However, when I create Parallels VM and try to boot from external drive, it doesn't work.
Hello PavelF, Please refer to the knowledge base article https://www.parallels.com/blogs/can-run-vm-external-drive/ to fix the Virtual Machine on an external drive. Thnaks.
