Cant seem to install windows

Hi. I am a brand new Parallel users. (I think) that I have gotten it sucessfull installed on my Mac Book Pro, but I am having difficulty installing Windows XP on it.

-When I start on the program, I get a page that says "Microsoft Windows XP- boot from hard drive.... failed....Boot from CD/DVD rom drive.... failed etc etc...

Any advice? I would GREATLY APPRECIATE!
