I cannot use the DVD drive in WIN XP but it did work before.

Afte deinstalling and reinstalling parallels clean, these are the symptoms:

1 There are 2 devices in hardware manager

-- Generic DVD-ROM SCSI CdRom Device
    -- MATSHITA DVD-R UJ-85J

Both have exclamation marks and an error Code 39 associated with them.

2 The WIN XP takes the drive away from OS/X but the drive is not recognized

    Environment:
    Mac OS/X 10.5.4
    2.33 Intel Core Duo
    2GB original SDRAM

Windows XP PRO Version 2002 SP 3

Delete 2 devices and uninstall Parallels Tools
restart Windows, do not install Parallels Tools yet, check what is in Device manager
If only one CD-DVD install Parallels Tools
