Check for updates doesn't do anything...

Check for update opens the dialog and says it's checking.. but the progress bar never changes and nothing happens.. you have to click Cancel to close it.

If there are no updates, a message should tell you so.

If there are no updates a message does tell you so. Either you have a communication problem or you are not waiting long enough.

My Internet connection is working fine too--and I have now waited about half an hour. I think it's safe to say that the feature is broken.

I agree 3186 to 3188 failed

eventualy I got a dialog box
install updates?

the image file was downloaded and ready on my desk top but I had to update manually
the updater needs to tell me it is downloading the new image

and when it is finished ask to go ahead

this needs fettling by the geeks
