Checksum error

I posted this question/problem back in May and got 0 responses. I hope that, this time, someone can help me with this!

I am using Build 5608 and Windows 2000 Pro and get this error when I try to resume from the saved state:

Error occurred while resuming the virtual machine.
Reason: Saved state checksum error.
Virtual machine's internal state can not be correctly restored and will be reset.

I don't even know what this means, much less how to fix it! Can anyone advise me? Is this a Windows problem or a Parallels problem?

I just uninstalled Parallels and reinstalled this new build, but still get the error and cannot save states. Should I uninstall Parallels again and, this time, get rid of the old virtual drive and create a new one?

It looks that either Mac disk is corrupted, or you are using multiple accounts on mac, and you are trying to resume another user session
 
Thank you for replying John. I can't be sure about the Mac being corrupted although everything else is working smoothly and I can use Parallels all day long with no problems.....Just cannot resume a saved session.

And, no, there are no other user accounts or sessions so that is not the problem.
 
I'm not exactly sure what you are asking or telling me .....? I have repaired permissions to no avail. Guess I will just eliminate everything and start with a fresh install of Parallels and Windows.
 
Let us see what is behind
1. If there are many users, mem and sav files are always using that user permissions and other have only read , this can be one of the causes.
2. Incorrect permissions to disk itself can cause this too
3. Try to copy this Vm to another place in your home folder and check is error is still over there.

One really rare case I even do not think about is that Parallels drivers are somehow corrupted,
Try to reinstall Parallels Desktop as described in http://kb.parallels.com/en/4790
