    Hi,

I just tried the Avaya IP softphone, using a USB headset on Parallels Desktop for Mac.

Using USB support in Parallels and trying to use the sound device gave atrocious performance.. laggy and glitchy. I said to leave it with me and I'd try to get it working better.

I set the mac's default sound devices for input and output to the USB headset (after disconnecting it from parallels) and then used the intel onboard driver from parallels... amazing, the sound works perfectly.

It'd be nice though if I didn't have to have the headset as my Mac sound device.. so can we have a preference pane to choose which sound devices to use for input and output?

    Thanks for a great product.

Run Parallels, load your configuration, but do not run it. Click on "sound" item and you will see your sound preferences pane, where you can select input and output devices. :)
