Okay, I've been trying all day to get this application to work with no success. I wanted to demo the application because we have an application that will only work in Internet Explorer, which means that we can't run it on an iPad. That's why I was looking at 2x to give me that ability. I need to get this running for I can do a demo on it and get the purchase approved. So, this is where I'm at with it: 1. Setup a brand new server as a test. Installed Terminal Services. This is a MS Windows Server 2008. 2. Installed 2X ApplicationServer. 3. Setup my farm and published my application. 4. Everything setup perfectly without any errors. If I go to farm and click Terminal Servers I have a green check that says Agent Ok. I click on Gateways and under status I have a green check that says Verified. The application has been published and everything looks like it should. I press OK on the console and I get a message Connection to servername: 20002 failed. Knowing this is a port, I through firewall. So, I made sure the firewall on the server is off, which it is. I removed myself from the corporate firewall, so that wasn't an issue and still same results. I then connected my computer through a Verizon card so now on a completely different network, still same results. Just for fun, I tried to connect with the 2x client from my ipad and it attempts to connect and tells me that the username or password is incorrect; however, I know for a fact the user is good and is an administrator on that server. To test this I RDP'ed from within the 2X client and that worked great. The only thing not working is the ability to run a remote application on my iPad, because 200002 has failed. I've tried two servers with the exact same results. I did the chat online with tech support and was told that his worked, so I was just going to have to troubleshoot it myself. Any suggestions on this? Right now I have a terrible first impression of this software, plus the technical support that goes with it.
I believe the gateway service gets restarted when making changes in the UI, so the error you get is only temporary. Is the gateway service started after a minute or two and is it running? Is connecting using the windows or android client working? Have you tried connecting using the UPN? Some things I came across when testing this out myself. If it persists, I think you might want to drop an email to support.
' I press OK on the console and I get a message Connection to servername: 20002 failed.' Please provide some more details regarding your scenario on the client/clients. I wasn't able to catch for sure from where and under what circumstances you tried to connect to the server while you received this message. I assume you run all 2X AS services on one server, right? The so called SMB installation? If you run the default configuration than 20002 is for the publishing. When you list down your open ports (e.g. by netstat -a) on the server side is there a listening on port 20002? Btw which port you choosed for the gateway port? It may be worth a try to configure the 2X client to only address the gateway port instead working with the whole set. Thanks,
