Convert Microsoft VPC Hard Drive to Parallels Hard Drive

Hi, I want to know if it's possible to use "Sysprep" and copy an image of an XP installation currently on MS Virtual PC VHD to a Parallels hard drive. In particular, does anyone know if the sysprep will handle the "hardware change"....

Anyone? I can explain if this isnt clear....

I have a Microsoft Virtual Server disk image, which I presume uses the same format as the desktop version. I have Debian installed on that and would REALLY like to just import that disk and run it in Parallels. If there is a way to convert these disks or if they can be opened directly, I'd like to know about it.

I think you're out of luck with Debian - as I'm trying to use Sysprep which is stricly MS windows. From what I'm being told - the hard drive format between both Parallels and Microsoft Virtual PC/Server is different. Which keeps Parallels from loading the MS hard drive.

With Sysprep - I would essentially be telling Windows - "Look for different hardware" - that is, I believe the underlying hardware emulation of both Parallels and MS are relatively similar - yet still different enough to prevent a direct hard drive copy.

So, again - my question....

Has anyone tried to Sysprep an XP drive image and use it with Parallels?

I'm gonna eventually give it a whirl - I've just been slammed this week @ work....
