Converting an VMWare Image

Does anyone have an experience with converting a VM Ware image (Windows 2008)? I've tried it and failed on a trial version of Parallels. I'm not looking to purchase until I know that this can be achieved.

Being on a trial I don't actually qualify for support so any ideas gratefully received.

Some tips:
- Delete/Merge any snapshots on VMWare beforehand.
- Make sure the disk in VMWare is not divided in 2 GB segments, make sure it's not expanding disk either
- Make sure you have enough disk space as Parallels won't delete the original VMWare image so it makes a copy.
