Hi, everyone. I'm running build 5608 on 10.5.4. I can't seem to paste the clipboard from OS X into Windows XP (service pack 3) more than once per session and sometime not even that. Logging out and back in doesn't help; restarting the virtual machine doesn't (always) help; restarting Parallels doesn't (always) help. Clipboard synchronization is turned on; Coherence mode doesn't seem to help. Is there a known workaround? Thanks, André
Ops, wait This is another problem, it is copying but always old content? Copy in Windows some content, and then copy content from Mac - let me know what is happening
I copied some text in XP, pasted it somewhere. That worked. Went to OS X, copied some text, pasted in XP and it pasted the previous XP text, not the new OS X text.
Parallels Tools icon is in tray? Do you have clipboard related software in Mac OS or in Windows For example Kissphrase on Mac?
Hi, John. No, the parallels tool is not in the tray (I just clicked 'next' during the install process). And I'm not running any clipboard software in OS X. Should I put parallels tools in the tray? Do you have instructions for that? Thanks, Andre'
It should be there by default, it looks that something prevents it to start, Can you see something in Application and System log in Windows related to Application hang and in details Parallels Tools
There is nothing under the application log at all related to Parallels Tools. Under the System Log I see: 1:02:15 pm The Parallels Tools Utility Service service entered the stopped state. 1:02:15 pm The Parallels Tools Utility Service service was successfully sent a stop control. 1:02:16 pm The Parallels Tools Utility Service service was successfully sent a start control. 1:02:16 pm The Parallels Tools Utility Service service entered the running state. -André
Try following. Start Parallels Tools center when you login to Windows XP, also check in msconfig -Starup- that Parallels Tools is checked
Hi, John. I did both of those things. I made sure PT was in startup (it wasn't) and manually started it, too. I get one copy and paste and that's it. When I shut down XP just now, it delayed a little for the Clipboard Syncro service to shut down, so I know it's running. It just isn't working for me. Any other ideas? Thanks, Andre'
Do you have antivirus on Windows, or spyware checking software (is Windows defender running)? Try also http://kb.parallels.com/en/5116
Hi, John. I am not running an anti-virus software. Is there a log I can send you? Perhaps a debug version I can run that collects information? It seems that we're running out of options.
Solved for me Hi John, Thanks for the tip about msconfig / startup. Checking this list reminded me that I had earlier ended the prl_cc.exe process using Task Manager (because it was hanging and I didn't recognize it at the time). I restarted the process (c:\Program Files\Parallels\Parallels Tools\prl_cc.exe) and clipboard is syncing properly now (Thankfully without having to restart!)
