couldn't able to lauch win xp

Dear All,

I am using mac & made VM with bootcamp-windoows XP. When I used to launch winxp VM , I am getting message
" windows could not start because of computer disk hardware configuration. Could not read from selected boot disk.
check boot path & hardware ".
Please suggest .

Please clarify if Windows boots when started natively in Boot Camp.
Make sure that C:\Boot.ini. In case Windows works in Boot camp but fails to boot in Parallels Desktop, try to create new VM based on existing Virtual Hard Disk and repair Windows installation as described below:

a. Start Parallels. In Parallels Desktop menu bar click File -> New.

b. Choose Custom mode of installation. On the next steps leave default settings.

c. On the fourth step choose "Use an existing hard disk image".

d. Browse to your hard disk.

e. Finish installation leaving default settings.
