Still getting the same issue on the latest build (16.1.1), really disappointing, I am using Razer Core X and XFX RX580 GTS on a 2018 MBP 13inch
 
Posting an update, the issue seems to minimise if I limit the amount of VRAM available to the VM from 'auto' to 1GB or 512MB. Not an optimal solution if you are gaming on the VM. Not had a crash once I did this, since last night.
 
Another update, crashes kept coming back even if I did put a limit at the VRAM. Unfortunately there are others that got the same issue since version 15 (lots of reports on reddit and eGPU.io). I wish I'd done my research before I purchased PD16, unfortunately not compatible with my system, it seems. I have been using another company's virtualisation software for the last 3 days and did not have a single issue, so my hardware is fine, consequently this is defo a parallels bug.

My Two Cents (Gamer Mode)
  • If you're using an eGPU, that seems to be a major trigger. Several users report the crashes are tied to external graphics setups.

  • Someone mentioned disabling "Always use high-performance graphics" under Parallels' VM settings (Hardware → Graphics → Advanced) helped stabilize things.

  • According to Parallels support in the thread, collecting technical report IDs after each crash is super important. It helps their engineering team pinpoint what's going wrong.

  • Another workaround: limit VRAM for the VM -- one user said dropping it from "auto" to 1 GB or 512 MB reduced (or even stopped) the crashes.

  • Make sure your version of Parallels Desktop is fully up to date -- sometimes bugs like this are addressed in newer builds.
Bottom line: There might not be a perfect fix yet, but some people are getting by by tweaking settings + sending crash logs to Parallels. If I were you, I'd try the VRAM trick + log reports + push for help from Parallels Support.
 
Oof, that's brutal -- crashing 10+ times a day kills the vibe. Have you tried reinstalling or checking for updates? Might also help to disable any sketchy plugins or run it vanilla and see if it stabilizes.
