When I create a new VM from "scratch" (using a CD/DVD or .iso file) Parallels automatically creates a desktop alias, or shortcut on my Mac desktop. If I create a new machine from a template, it doesn't. Is there any way I can manually create a VM alias on the desktop, so I can start the machine without going through the Virtual Machines List? (This is prob. more of a Mac Dummy question than a Parallels Dummy question, but...)
I'm going to answer this so the thread doesn't go unanswered, even though the post is almost a year old now. There's another thread too about the same issue though. It's a Mac related issue and I looked for the answer too for some time before realizing that you can create the alias for the virtual machine quite simply. Find the virtual machine file (.pvm), right click on it and choose to create alias, drag the created alias to your desktop and rename it if you like.
