Desktop 12 Windows 10, Recover mode after Parallel Tools install and reboot

I am on El Capitan with Parallels Desktop Version 12.1.1 (41491). Running a Windows 10 Anniversary guest. Been working no issues at all. Updated Parallels which then installed the Parallel Tools on the windows 10 guest. Who know what Windows update was applying itself. Now when I try to start the guest I end up on a screen that says
Recovery
Your PC/Device needs to be repaired
A required device isn't connected or can't be accessed.
Error code: 0xc000000f
You'll need to use recovery tools............................
ENDS with
Press Enter to try again
Press F8 for Startup Settings

Can't seem to get into the F8 mode.
Any ideas? I have already recovered from a back up and it did the same thing after updating.
 
+1 - This condition happened to me after a Parallels update a few days ago. I cannot get a recovery USB drive to boot either so I am stuck. I am not sure if my only option is to build out a whole new image but I sure hope not.
 
Since I cannot get to a functional Windows login screen before I hit the BSOD I am unable to uninstall the Parallels tools. Additionally when I attempted to install a fresh version of Windows 10 from a USB key that failed with the same BSOD (SYSTEM EXCEPTION NOT HANDLED). I was only able to create my new Windows 10 image by attaching the ISO to a virtual CD slot and install that way.

FWIW, I saved off the .PVM file to a backup server so that if there are any other suggestions to try I can give it a shot.

Hi @ChrisB18, are you still having the startup issue with Windows 10 virtual machine? Please let us know the results and we are here to help!
